From 8 to 10 October 2025, Amiens hosted the European Conference on Artistic and Cultural Education (ACE) at the Maison de la Culture, bringing together stakeholders from education, culture and research from across Europe.
Over three days, conferences, round tables and workshops explored the major challenges of Artistic and Cultural Education: equal access, local and European policies, the role of artists in educational projects, and adaptation to current issues. The programme alternated between reflection and practice, with presentations by European experts, artistic demonstrations, and presentations of local initiatives. Amiens Métropole, committed to a “100% Artistic and Cultural Education” approach, showcased its actions and partnerships, while contributing to the debate on the mainstreaming of artistic education.
This Conference brought out strong directions: strengthening the training of stakeholders, developing European cooperation, and ensuring all young people have access to culture. A key moment to affirm Artistic and Cultural Education as a pillar of education and citizenship in Europe.
